SC/ ST CELL

The SC/ST Cell is an integral part of educational institutions. The SC/ST Cell is responsible for promoting the welfare and interests of students and faculty belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities in educational institutions. The cell strives to ensure a conducive environment for all deprived groups and periodically organizes special lectures by eminent personalities and academics on topics like Gender Equality, Equality and Discrimination, Rights of Minorities, and Challenges and Way outs for Differently abled persons to raise awareness on the same. The cell serves as a liaison between the administration and SC and ST students and faculty, addressing their complaints and facilitating their participation in academic and extracurricular activities. The SC/ST cell of the College was established to empower SC/ST students enrolled in the College. They are also encouraged to enroll in career orientation and skill development programmes, which would equip them with the skills necessary to select a career path.

Objectives:

  • To help the SC/ST students catch up academically and socially so that they can fully participate as contributing members of society.
  • To counsel and guide SC/ST students and assist them in efficiently managing academic and personal issues in college life.
  • To create a space where all students in this situation can feel comfortable and safe.
  • To give prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies etc. arising on account of any event at the campus and or in personal life.
  • To set up a mechanism for SC/ST students to get their problems fixed, if they have any.
  • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.
